Robyn Rihanna, better popularly known as Rihanna in Barbados is an Barbadian artist and performer who has released popular songs such as Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. She's a hugely popular artist who has sold more than 41 million albums worldwide and over 150 million songs. Barbados born, she first listened to reggae as she got older and started singing for herself as an teen. In the wake of being disturbed by chaos of her family life, and her constant disputes with her father she became immersed with music. In the end, she discovered she was meant to make it as a professional. While still in highschool she joined a musical group and was invited to perform for Evan Rodgers. The producer was extremely impressed by the talent of this teenager. The singer moved into New York so that she was able to pursue a full-time singing career. The album she released her debut album soon out and Rihanna was a cult artist in no time. The young crowd was captivated by her songs with a catchy sound that made them tap their feet, and this brought her into the world of film. Pretty young and highly talented she is today regarded as a teen idol and a fashion icon. Rihanna uses her fame to positive use as she is actively involved in several charities.
