Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama series released internationally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other critically acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English as well as mastering various accents. Mikkelsen claimed that his brother and he were able to learn English initially by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
